If you are not hiring a car or a private airport transfer, then the following transportation options are available to you to and from Athens International Airport:
Buses
All buses arrive into the Departures area and most operate 24 hours.
All buses depart from the Arrivals area, between Exits 4 and 5.
From the Arrivals area, buses operated by Oasa are regularly available to:
- Bus route X93 to Kifissos Coach Station
- Bus route X95 to Syntagma Square (Athens City Centre)
- Bus route X96 to Piraeus Port
- Bus route X97 Dafni Metro Station (Athens Commercial Centre)
The bus takes approximately 40 minutes from Syntagma to Athens Airport.

Trains
There is a railway station beside Athens International Airport with services to Athens central railway station, Larissis Station, and Piraeus Port (Trainose).
Journey time to Athens city centre is approx 1 hour.

Metro
It is also possible to travel from Athens International Airport to the city centre by Metro.
The airport is on Metro Line 3.
Journey time to Athens city centre is approx 90 mins.
Taxis
Taxis and Limousine services are available from the Arrivals area, Exit 3.
Taxi fare to the city centre is approx €40 during daytime and the price increases up to €60 evenings and holidays.
Please check with the taxi driver on costs before you get into the cab and get a receipt just in case you need to complain about the cost or service.
